The N.E.W. League, established in the 1980’s, consists of competing teams in Columbus, Dublin, Marysville, Plain City, and Powell. The purpose of the North-East-West Swim League is to provide a complete swimming program for age group swimmers by conducting an annual competition through a series of dual meets to determine individual and team league champions. The NEW Swim League is a summer recreational league.

The Jerome Village Swim Team will hold New Swimmer Evaluations prior to the season. Since this year is the first year for a swim team, all swimmers will need to complete the evaluation before joining the team. Dates, times, locations, and signups will be provided at a later date.

Ability Requirements: The Jerome Village Swim Team is not a replacement for swim lessons and all new swimmers must pass an evaluation.

• Swimmers 9 and older must be able to swim 50 meters (2 lengths of the lap pool) freestyle and 25-meter backstroke without stopping and with controlled breathing.
• Swimmers 8 and younger must be able to float comfortably on both front and back, and swim 25-meters freestyle and backstroke.

Swimmers who are unable to complete the evaluation requirements are welcome to register for swimming lessons which will be announced at a later date to better qualify for future participation.

Please note: Temperatures of Lap Pools are held at a lower temperature than recreational swimming pools. This can be a shock for new swimmers so it is recommended to introduce them to a lap pool before signing up for the evaluation.
