Article originally posted by Jenny Entler for the M/I Homes Blog

Building a home is such an exciting process, and part of that is getting to have your personal touch on everything in your home right from the start!

Learn what goes into selecting our Design Packages so that we can offer you an enjoyable design process that always results in a stunning home.

Why Design Packages?

Selecting design options for a new home is an exciting part of the home buying experience, but it can also be time-consuming and stressful. While most people know what they like when they see it, turning those thoughts into reality can be overwhelming when faced with so many options and decisions.

Design Packages take the guesswork out of the selection process. Each Package features a one-of-a-kind combination of cabinets, countertops, floors, and finishes, inspired by popular decorating styles and assembled by design specialists.

You can easily envision how your home will look and flow—saving time and reducing stress. We put it all together so you don’t have to!

Creating Our Packages

We start with finishes and fixtures that are on-trend, but not trendy, so that your home will have lasting value.

We work with our manufacturer partners to ensure that the products in the packages have sustainable availability, which helps prevent unexpected discontinuations or supply issues that would delay the building process.

We offer several design styles and price levels, so it’s easy to find something that suits your personal aesthetic and budget.

For each Package, we choose materials with complementary colors and textures to give your home a sense of flow and unity as you go from room to room.

We stay with neutral color palettes for tiles and carpets and combine them with different metal finishes for hardware and faucets so that customers can easily layer in their own personal décor.

We include “must-have” items in our package pricing, such as a Deluxe Carpet Pad. 42” Kitchen Wall Cabinets, 35” Bathroom Vanities, and Double-Bowl Sinks in Bathrooms. This gives the customer an up-front price, and they don’t have to worry they are forgetting an important detail.
