Eversole Run Middle School Weekly Newsletter

Happy Friday Eversole Run Families,

I can’t believe we are approaching the last week of school for the year. It seems like just yesterday we were opening the doors for the first time. It has been a great year at Eversole Run Middle School, and we’re looking forward to a great last week of school.
Our students have really enjoyed Eagle Wars! My favorite activity thus far has been watching the students decorate their own cupcakes during Cupcake Wars. It’s definitely evident we have some creative students. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers that have assisted, and will continue to volunteer on Monday. I would also like to thank our Student Council who has worked so hard in making Eagle Wars a success.

On Thursday, May 26 we will celebrate our first group of 8th graders with an end of the year ceremony. The ceremony will take place in the gym, beginning at 9 a.m. We look forward to celebrating with students and parents as they get ready to transition to high school.
We will dismiss at 11:48 on Friday, May 27. We will have a DJ playing music outside along with grade level teams planning fun activities for the students. The following information is posted on the DCS website:
High Schools 7:55 a.m. – 11:25 a.m.
Middle Schools 8:28 a.m. – 11:48 a.m.
Elementary Schools 9:10 a.m. – 12:25 p.m.
Elementary buses will be at the schools at 12:25 p.m.
Latchkey will end at 4:30 p.m.
Lunch will be a bag lunch on the last day- students may grab and go if needed.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and we look forward to seeing your child on Monday!
Go Eagles!

Kyle Gibson, Ed.D

Athletics
As the school year comes to a close, we had a fantastic week of Eagle Athletics.

We held our Cheerleading Clinics and team placement this past week. We are looking forward to continuing to build a strong tradition with our cheerleading program.

We also held our Track, Field, & Cross Country, Volleyball, and Boys Lacrosse camps for our 6th grade class. It is truly awesome to see the excitement around those programs. Next week, we will be hosting our Girls Lacrosse, Tennis, and Football camps. See the schedule below. Go 6th Grade Eagles!

We concluded the last of our Fall sports player meetings this week. To register your child for our Fall sports program, please do the following:
1.) Create a Final Forms account. Sign all forms for the Fall and specify which sport your child will be playing/trying out for. The school year should turn from 2021-2022 to 2022-2023 by 6/1/2022.
2.) Schedule a physical exam with your physician. Bring the OHSAA Physical Form (posted to the web-site) to be filled out, then you can upload directly to Final Forms.
3.) Have your child attend all Summer activities that are scheduled (let coach know if/when they will need to miss).

For more information regarding Fall sports, visit our web-site.

Medication Pick-Up from the Clinic and Vaccine Requirements for Current 6th Graders

For the families of current 6th grade students: The Tdap and MCV4 (meningitis) are required vaccines for incoming 7th graders. Please plan to have your students receive these vaccines prior to the start of next school year. If you have questions, you may contact the clinic.

For the families of students with emergency medicine: Please make plans to pick up your students medication before next Friday.

Food/Drink Deliveries During the School Day
The amount of deliveries during the school day is on the rise. Please do not send or bring your child coffee, cookies/treats, etc. during the school day. There are also unnecessary deliveries being made for students to share with their friends. For many reasons (health and safety included), such deliveries may not make it past the office to your child. This also includes DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc. We truly appreciate your cooperation with this small request!
